At A Perfect Foundation, we believe access to clean drinking water is a fundamental human right. In partnership with Waves 4 Water, we have successfully supported clean water implementations across southern Sipora and surrounding areas to date.

At A Perfect Foundation, we are proud of our partnership with Waves 4 Water, bringing sustainable filtration systems to the Mentawai Islands.

At A Perfect Foundation, we believe access to clean drinking water is a fundamental human right. In the remote corners of the Mentawai Islands, communities face a stark reality where contaminated water poses constant health risks.
In partnership with Waves 4 Water, we have successfully executed three vital clean water implementations on the southern island of Sipora and surrounding areas, combining remote logistics with grassroots education.
Projects 1 & 2
Pukayarat Village (2015 & 2016)
Launched in 2015 alongside Waves 4 Water Ambassador Winter Vincent and his family, our first project targeted Pukayarat, a remote village accessible only by boat.
Overcoming complex ocean transport logistics, we successfully installed 3 large water tanks and distributed 30 high-efficiency water filters directly to households.
Due to high demand for the water filters, we returned in 2016 with another 47 filters.
The Impact

These projects save time, reduce reliance on boiling water, and help improve overall health in remote communities.

Pei Pei Village
Joined by surfing legend Barton Lynch and Perfect Wave Travel guests, we again navigated ocean logistics to reach this boat-only village, distributing 46 water filters and buckets to families.
This implementation eliminated the need for families to trek for firewood and boiling water, providing immediate, safe drinking water.

Education & Long-Term Sustainability
Empowering Local Leaders & Travelers
Through our partnership with Waves 4 Water, we champion the “do what you love and help along the way” mindset. By encouraging everyday travelers, surfers, and guests to become clean water “couriers” ordinary trips are transformed into vehicles for grassroots humanitarian aid.
At the core of these initiatives is local empowerment. By training village champions to maintain the filtration systems and communicate their health benefits, we ensure these projects remain sustainable, long-lasting, and entirely community-driven.
